Secret and Journey

It began in June of 2019

I did a meditation, and in it, I saw three horses that were not here. I wrote it all down and reached out to my mentor in England, Dawn. I explained that I saw a foal being born and her mother and a chocolate gelding in the herd. The mare and foal were Rocky Mountain horses, both chocolate. I wasn't sure what any of it meant, but the message was that they would come by way of Merlin.

I didn't need another horse. Or three for that matter. When I messaged Dawn, she told me that she had had a dream that a Chocolate filly was running with the herd. She had also had a vision of a dark horse galloping across the desert. I didn't know what would unfold, but I was open to whatever the Universe had to offer.

I started looking for filly's for sale online to no avail. Then one evening, I decided to try Facebook. It only took me a few minutes to find the page of one of the big Rocky Mountain breeders in Kentucky. I scrolled through looking at the 2019 foals, and one filly rocked my soul. The post spoke about naming her Serengeti's Secret. I saw her sweet face and knew that this was the filly I was looking for. She was born on the day of the Kentucky Oaks, a race for fillies the day before the Derby. This was the horse galloping across the desert, and her Momma had kept her a Secret. I inquired about her, and she was still available. I then sent the picture to Dawn, who confirmed that this was the filly she saw running with our herd. That was when I asked for the pedigree.

Her Dams name is MK Jessica Rabbit. My first thought was, "That's a strange name for a horse." My mediation the following day explained to me that the mare was to come with the baby. The mare was "Bunny," a mare I had known 20 years ago when I worked at a Rocky farm in Kentucky. Bunny had reincarnated to do more work with me. And so it began.

The arrival

The process of getting them and getting them here took six weeks, but on a warm July day, both of the girls stepped off the trailer onto Indian Springs property. Out of sorts, uncertain, and tired from a very long haul from Kentucky, I greeted them both with an open heart and led them to their stall. I cried when I saw them, and my heartfelt so full.

Honestly, Secret has been the easiest baby I have ever had the privilege to raise. She is teaching me a new way of being. She is smart, brave, curious, and kind ( with a little bit of sass mixed in). Everyone here adores her, even the horses.

I'm looking forward to watching this girl's life and purpose unfold. About a week before the girls arrived, I talked to Dawn in the kitchen and said, "I'm not sure what the Momma's name is? "She replied, "You could take a drum journey to find out?" I sat with that, said Ok. Later that day, it hit me. I said, "I think her name is Journey." Dawn said, "Yes, yes, it is." That was how her name came. It suites her perfectly.

When Journey arrived, she was scared. She had been passed from one farm to the next and had had three babies. Little trust in women and absolutely no use for men our barn crew slowly with care and respect showed her that not all humans are the same. We listened when she "spoke," we honored the boundaries that she set around herself and her baby. She is a wonderful mother. We showed her lots and lots of love and kindness. She is in the process of healing. She is sweet and outgoing now and not even a shadow of the horse that stepped off the trailer. Journey is teaching me that anything is possible. She loves to interact and connect.

The third horse from my meditation that day ended up being Traveller. He came about a month after the girls arrived.
